But a hotel worker has shared that guests should be conscious of some things, so they don't make unnecessary work for staff. "If we eat food in the room, I always make sure that I call room service to come remove it, or I make sure that we take the trash out of the room," Trisha told HuffPost. " It comes after another hotel worker shared a "red flag" that is relatively simple to spot on arrival, and suggests it's a sign you should be finding somewhere else to stay. Santiago Leon, the general manager at The Robey, shared some advice with Business Insider around what to look for when checking into a hotel. "A simple but telling red flag is when light bulbs are not working in the common areas," he told the publication.
