A new leak appears to confirm Sony 's plans to remaster one of the biggest and best PlayStation /PC exclusives of all time. According to a recent Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) filing, Horizon Zero Dawn is being remastered for PS5 and Windows PC. The classification board provides age ratings for games in the US, similar to PEGI ratings for video games in Europe.

While the rating doesn't list any of the technical changes made to the blockbuster PlayStation game, it does seemingly confirm that a release is imminent. Unfortunately, however, despite the fact that Horizon Zero Dawn is one of the most popular PlayStation games ever made, fans are absolutely furious with the discovery. The general consensus is that Horizon Zero Dawn is already a visually impressive game that doesn't particularly need to be remastered.

The 2017 action game has already been updated to take advantage of the PlayStation 5's additional horsepower, running at 60 frames-per-second when installed on the PS5 SSD. Zero Dawn was also given a boost for the launch of the PS4 Pro, and received a selection of technical improvements when it released on Steam back in 2020. Of course, a native PS5 (and PS5 Pro) version would improve the game even further, adding ray-tracing support, performance boosts and DualSense features in line with sequel Forbidden West.

However, as fans on social media are keen to point out, there are other PlayStation games that would benefit more from a PS5 remaster. Bloodborne is.
