A man was killed late Thursday when a severe storm hit Pawnee County, officials reported. Pawnee Country Sheriff Darrin Varnell said that one person was confirmed dead, but he did not know his identity late Thursday. He stated that the victim was outside before 7:30 p.

m. and that a trailer flipped on top of him. The city of Pawnee reported multiple electric poles down around the city and that crews were working to get power restored.

" The City has been hit with a severe storm (possible tornado). We need people to stay in their homes as emergency crews are out working and identifying all of the areas hit." officials said in a Facebook post .

" We have electric poles down throughout town and have called for emergency assistance in getting the electric back on. There is a significant amount of damage, several road closures and emergency crews throughout town. Please stay weather aware.
