Aussie swimmer Bronte, 30, got engaged just after her stint at the 2024 Paris Olympics , with her boyfriend Benfield Lainchbury proposing in Venice. Her sister Cate, 32, has now revealed some more details about the proposal but admitted one action of Benfield's left her 'mad' on her sibling's behalf.

The freestyle world record holder revealed that Benfield, 35, didn't get down on one knee when he popped the all-important question to Bronte. 'He didn't get down on one knee, which I was a little bit mad about, but I'm glad he popped the question,' she told Ben Fordham on his 2GB morning radio show. 'It's been eight years, so they really rushed into it,' she jokingly added.

She went on to concede that the proposal was still 'beautiful' and credited Benfield for proposing to Bronte in a very romantic setting - during a canal ride in Venice. When asked if wedding bells are on the horizon for her, Cate insisted she and her partner Adam Kerr have no plans to get engaged any time soon. Bronte Campbell's sister Cate (pictured) has revealed .
