Athletes had to fully focus on where they were walking as they entered the Stade de France stadium to celebrate the Closing Ceremony 2024. As the flag bearers entered the big stage, a number seemed to almost fall on their face at the event's entrance. Eagle-eyed fans on /X were quick to point at the hazard.

One user noticed the UK's flag bearers, including Alex Yee, need to regain composure. One user wrote to a fellow user: "As I wrote the question I saw Alex Yee & other Olympians trip over the carpet in the Olympics closing ceremony." Another added: "There’s a loose piece of carpet at the closing ceremony which people keep tripping over and I kind of want someone to completely stack it.

" A third also mocked: "I kept on thinking that would be a weird way to get injured for one of the athletes “Yeah I’m out for the rest of the season as I fell over the carpet at the Olympics." The incident could have caused big issues if one of the stars did have a full tumble, but thankfully those involved were able to regain their footing before hitting the deck. As the teams continued to enter the arena, it seemed as though the competitors had discovered the issue and were able to avoid any mishap.
