Olivia Rodrigo had a surprise up her sleeve when she brought out Chappell Roan at her concert! The 21-year-old singer was performing at Los Angeles’ Intuit Dome on Tuesday (August 20) and surprised fans with an appearance by the fellow singer! Chappell actually opened up for Olivia during the first leg of her Guts tour. The pair share producer, Dan Nigro and Chappell has even done backing vocals on some of Olivia’s songs. The two are obviously close and it’s clear that Olivia admires Chappell as a fellow artist.
During Tuesday’s concert, Olivia said, “I think she is one of the most singular, inspiring, powerful artists I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting, and I’m so excited because she’s gonna sing one of my favorite songs of all time.” Not only did Chappell perform, but her and Olivia made Chappell’s hit ‘Hot to Go!’ into a duet and even taught the audience the dance that goes with the chorus. ..” trend.
Olivia begins the video with, “I hope she plays ‘Hot to go!’” to which Chappell responds, “This is an Olivia Rodrigo concert, b**ch.” As we know though, the duo did indeed perform ‘Hot to Go!’ and even cut to footage of the performance in Olivia’s TikTok. While it’s sad that the Guts tour is ending, how sad can you really be after witnessing the iconic pop moment that was their duet?!.
