Connor McDavid finally has a ring — just maybe not the one millions of Canadians had hoped for. One month after the Edmonton Oilers captain came up short in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup and missed out on Canada’s first championship in more than three decades, he tied the knot with fiancée Lauren Kyle in an opulent ceremony and celebration on Lake Muskoka on July 27. The wedding was held at Old Woman Island, a narrow strip of land just off the shore, and the rehearsal dinner was hosted on a converted steamship sailing through Lake Muskoka, .

jewelry. “An unexpected element of the wedding were Connor’s vows,” Kyle told Vogue. “He is usually more reserved and quiet about his emotions but his vows were so emotional and heartfelt — it was really special to share that in front of all of our friends and family.

” The couple’s first dance was set to “Only Love” by Ben Howard. The pair has been together for nine years and McDavid proposed in June 2023 at their cottage in Muskoka, Kyle told Vogue. McDavid proposed to Kyle last year.

“You are the most loving, passionate and amazing person,” he last year. “I am a very lucky man.” In her own post, Kyle said she “cannot put into words how happy I am to.
