Joseph J. Imig was born on Jan. 15, 1950, to Harold and Helen Imig in Neillsville, Wisconsin.
The family moved to The Dalles, Oregon, in 1960, where he met Beth. They were married on Aug. 31, 1973.
Joe fell asleep on Aug. 1, 2024, in the arms of his loving wife of 53 years, Beth. Joe and Beth spent their adult lives serving the Creator, Jehovah God and his son, Jesus Christ.
As a couple they had the privilege to attend and graduate from Gilead, a school for the training of missionaries. They were sent to Ecuador, where they fell in love with the people. Joe was always ready to share a thought from the Bible, which he did up until his death.
Joe truly enjoyed life. He loved swimming in our beautiful Lake Chelan, backpacking in the Cascade mountains, bird watching, going to the ocean, and sharing endless gourmet meals with his friends. While growing up, he had many fond memories of his life on a dairy farm.
One memory was riding on the back of the draft horses as his father plowed the fields. But most of all, Joe will be remembered by others for his humble nature and his kind spirit. Joe had hundreds of friends.
He worked for the Post Office in Chelan, Washington, as a rural letter carrier for close to 20 years, always wearing shorts and Hawaiian shirts all year round, no matter how cold the temperature was outside. He always knew he would come home to a roaring fire and a bowl of warm soup. Towards the end of his life, Beth reminded him of the future when he would be resurrect.
