Georgia Lou Edwards Lockhart Georgia Lou (Edwards) Lockhart, 85, of Hazel, Kentucky, passed away Monday, Aug. 19, 2024, at Spring Creek Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Murray, Kentucky. Born Aug.

5, 1939, in Murray, she was the daughter of Janie Frances (Hendrick) Edwards and George Raymond Edwards. Lovingly called “Mema” by her children and grandchildren, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Lockhart; daughter, Jerri Rowlett; great-granddaughters, Autumn and Emelia Salazar; and special friend and companion, Bob Starks.

Georgia is survived by her children, David (Carole) Lockhart of Collierville, Tennessee; Gary (Barbie) Lockhart of Hazel; Belinda (Nick) Chavez of Louisville; grandchildren, Shannon (Rich) Taylor of Naperville, Illinois; Brandy (Michael) Gilio of Oswego, Illinois; Jessica Rowlett of Buchanan, Tennessee; Amanda Rowlett of Springville, Tennessee; Cheryl Lockhart of Cincinnati, Ohio; Owen Chavez, Eli Chavez, Sam Chavez and Violet Chavez, all of Louisville; great-grandchildren, Madison Gilio and Sara Gilio, both of Oswego, Max Rodriguez and Roman Rodriguez, both of Naperville, Luna Rowlett of Buchanan; and siblings, Norma Ford of Murray, Donald Edwards of Murray, Ronald Edwards of Roseburg, Oregon, and Shirley Edwards of Murray.
