In other Obama book-related news, the paperback edition of his 2020 memoir , the first of a planned two-part autobiography, was released on Aug. 13. A publication date for the second volume has yet to be announced.

Winnipeg author (and book reviewer) has won the top fiction prize in magazine’s 36th annual writing contest. The winners of the 2024 Short Grain contests in fiction and poetry were announced on Aug. 12, with Jones taking the top prize in fiction, second place going to Manitoba-born and Toronto/Montreal’s winning third place.

In the poetry contest, Toronto’s took the top prize, with of Calgary nabbing second place and B.C.’s rounding out the top three.

The winning entries will be published in fall 2024 issue. Fans of Cheyenne and Arapaho American Indian author ’s writing will have to wait quite some time to read the project he’s currently working on. The author of 2018.
