The former manager of Oasis has spoken about how he thought the legendary band would not get back together. A clip of Alan McGee, 63, speaking about a potential reunion of Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher has emerged, in which Alan tells James English that he didn’t think a reunion was possible. In the clip, filmed before the band's comeback was announced, Alan is asked on the Anything Goes with James English podcast if a reconciliation and a reformed Oasis would be possible.
He responded that it wasn’t because there was “a lot of bad blood” between Liam and Noel Gallagher. On whether Oasis returning would be “big”, Alan was certain that it would be, but that the main obstacle to that return would be “trying to get to the end of the gig [without Liam and Noel] killing each other”. Alan’s comments came before Oasis announced that the band was coming back together.
An announcement, made across social media, confirmed the news nearly 15 years after the brothers fell out in 2009. In a statement on Instagram , the announcement said: “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned.
The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.
” 12 UK dates and two gigs in Dublin have been confirmed in the hours since the news broke with the band set to travel to the likes of London, Cardiff, Manchester, Edinburgh and Dublin in the summer of 2025. Away from the practicalities of the reunion, there has been widespread celebration as fans and pundits celebrate.
