Pune: The Pimpri Chinchwad police on Thursday made the fifth arrest in the Indori case , in which the body of a woman (25) was thrown into the Indrayani river with her two sons on June 9. Assistant commissioner of police Devidas Gheware, who is leading a special investigation (SIT), told TOI that during the questioning of the four arrested suspects and the scrutiny of their cellphone call details, the involvement of another woman (37) was revealed. “We arrested her from Ahmednagar on Thursday.

She is a nurse in a hospital and a friend of the ward boy, arrested in the case,” Gheware said. The Pimpri Chinchwad police commissioner, Vinoy Kumar Choubey, had constituted the SIT for investigations into the case and to trace the body of the woman and her two sons. The victim died in a private hospital at Kalamboli near Panvel before undergoing a process to terminate her pregnancy on July 8.

The woman’s partner (37), a vendor with a logistics company, and his accomplice, a ward boy in a private hospital in Ahmednagar, were earlier arrested in the case.
