Sunday, November 10, 2024 British travelers heading to certain popular holiday destinations should take note: failure to carry a printed boarding pass could result in a fine for travelers flying to Morocco, Turkey , and Albania. As winter holiday plans ramp up, airlines are issuing new reminders about boarding pass requirements. With digital convenience on the rise, many passengers opt for mobile boarding passes, often skipping the hassle of printing a physical copy.

However, specific airports in these destinations mandate a printed boarding pass, with some travelers reporting fines as high as €50 (approximately £42) for neglecting to bring a paper copy. Budget travel expert Sabrina Escapes recently highlighted Morocco’s strict requirement on social media, alerting travelers that mobile boarding passes will not be accepted at Moroccan airports. “Both Ryanair and easyJet have issued reminders for UK holidaymakers flying to Morocco to ensure they print their boarding passes,” she said.

This requirement applies regardless of whether passengers are flying with hand luggage, check-in baggage, or no baggage. In addition to Morocco, Ryanair has specified that Turkey (excluding Dalaman Airport) and Tirana, Albania, also enforce printed boarding pass requirements. The airline’s website confirms: “While mobile boarding passes are accepted at most airports in our network, certain locations, including airports in Morocco, Turkey, and Tirana, cannot accept mobile boarding pas.
