Pune: Deputy CM Ajit Pawar on Sunday said he left his uncle Sharad Pawar because all the MLAs who sided with him after the split wanted to join the govt. At a gathering during a campaign in Baramati constituency , he said, "Some people may say that I should not have left Sharad Pawar, but let me clarify that I did not leave him. I requested him to join govt, and it was not only my opinion alone but also that of all the MLAs because govt had halted many works.
" Works approved during the MVA govt, including projects for which funds were released, were halted, the deputy CM said. "I was the leader of the opposition, and I had no role to either stay or resume those works," he added. The deputy CM urged people not to get emotional while casting votes adding that some people would make an emotional appeal on the last day of campaigning.
