ORIGINAL, June 24 : Focus Features on Monday morning debuted the first trailer for one of the year’s most anticipated films: the gothic horror Nosferatu from filmmaker Robert Eggers ( The Lighthouse ), which is slated for release on Wednesday, December 25, 2024. Written and directed by Eggers, Nosferatu is billed as a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman (Lily-Rose Depp) and the terrifying vampire (Bill Skarsgård) infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake. Others in the star-studded cast include Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney and Willem Dafoe.

Nosferatu marks Eggers’ second film for Focus Features, on the heels of his Viking epic The Northman , co-financed by Focus and New Regency, which grossed $70 million worldwide. Eggers produced alongside Chris Columbus and Eleanor Columbus, Jeff Robinov, and John Graham. Previously, Columbus served as an EP on Eggers’ The Witch and The Lighthouse .
