One of Britain's best-loved takeaways and foods is curry. There is truly something for everyone if you get an Indian takeaway with a variety of food with a kick or spice that will blow your socks off. We are looking to crown the best curry house in Darlington and County Durham and in that spirit, we are speaking to all the nominees to find out a bit more about them and their business.

We spoke to Sanjay Mohamud, the director and chef of Masala Art which is based on Houndgate in Darlington. They specialise and pride themselves on "authentic" Indian cuisine, with their most popular dishes including lamb chops and the chicken lollipop. Sanjay said: "We do have a lot of regular customers and we do get a lot of really good reviews.

We take pride in the fact that our food is authentic Indian food. "It's really good to be nominated, we are really grateful." Gavin Foster, editor of the Northern Echo added: "Curry houses are loved across the country and our region has some exceptional restaurants.
