Thursday, October 3, 2024 Noida International Airport in Jawar, Uttar Pradesh, is making strides towards completion, with full-crew tests for commercial passenger flights scheduled to begin by November 30, 2023 , according to a senior official. The airport aims to commence full commercial flight operations by March 2024 . The Civil Aviation Ministry had recently sent a letter to Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL) , urging them to finalize flight scheduling and expedite preparations ahead of the airport’s operational launch.

The request comes as the airport gears up to meet key deadlines. On October 3, 2023 , a meeting was held in Gautam Buddh Nagar to discuss the airport’s progress. Representatives from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) , the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) , the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Authority , NIAL, and several independent engineers involved in the project attended the meeting.

The discussions centered on finalizing operational readiness, flight schedules, and regulatory approvals necessary for the upcoming tests and commercial operations. The airport is expected to help alleviate congestion at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport and serve as a key aviation hub for both domestic and international travelers.
