A JAPANESE automaker announces its last sedan won't be produced after 2024 - leaving only five choices for Americans in 2025. The brand says the lineup will consist of only SUVs until a new EV is unveiled. Infiniti, the luxury division of Nissan , has officially announced the Q50 sedan will no longer be produced after the 2024 model year.

Once the sedan is off the production line, the brand will only sell three crossovers - the QX50, QX55, and the QX60. The QX80, a full-sized SUV, will be the only one available to buyers. Currently, the Q50 can come with a gas engine or a hybridized configuration.

Alfonso Albaisa, the Senior Vice President, told the outlet the sedan is inspired by the Japanese "Sho" expression, which "invokes the powerful but graceful flight of an elegant bird.
