Nick Grimshaw's luxury Ibiza villa was on target list of 'sedative gas gang' who burgled property in terrifying night time raid as he, his 81-year-old mother and friends slept inside By Molly Clayton and Matt Strudwick and Dan Woodland Published: 15:59, 23 August 2024 | Updated: 16:32, 23 August 2024 e-mail 8 View comments Nick Grimshaw and his 81-year-old mother were in the 'the wrong place at the wrong time' when they were sedated by a criminal gang in their Ibiza villa. Grimmy, who shot to fame on BBC Radio 1 in 2012, was celebrating his 40th birthday with his mother Eileen earlier this month when he was targeted by the gang in a terrifying night time raid. While Nick had rented the villa to celebrate the milestone with his family and fiancé Mesh Henry, it is believed the gang had no idea who he was and the address was targeted as it was known to be 'used by high net worth clients'.

A source told The Sun : 'Sadly Nick’s villa was on the target list - simply due it being known for being used by high net worth clients. 'The gang would have had no idea who he was. Sadly it’s a case of the wrong place at the wrong time but it’s scary to say the least.

' No one is said to have been hurt in the raid, but a number of items are thought to have been stolen.
