Ludhiana: A man working for an NGO, Kumar Gaurav , staged a protest against alleged corruption in the MC’s building branch by performing a puja outside the civic body’s Zone B office here on Wednesday. Gaurav, who is from NGO Yuva, accused a building inspector of allowing illegal constructions in the city. He claimed to have filed a complaint against the inspector with the Enforcement Directorate and vigilance bureau.

When contacted, the building inspector accused the activist of trying to extort money from him. Gaurav alleged that buildings were being constructed through corrupt means. He said constructions were being carried out by occupying vacant govt land.
