North East holidaymakers are set to benefit from a new flight route to Turkey in the summer of 2025. SunExpress, a joint assignment of Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines, has unveiled plans to introduce a fresh route to Dalaman and to increase the frequency of flights to Antalya from Newcastle Airport. Honoured as the Best Leisure Airline in Europe during the Skytrax 2024 World Airline Awards, the airline will kick-off twice-weekly flights to Dalaman from May 4, 2025.

Dalaman, famed for its stunning blue flag beach, vibrant resorts and luxurious hotels, continues to charm travellers. The turquoise coast, with its numerous coves, stretches of white sand, as well as a wealth of bars and restaurants, is a popular hotspot.
