Published: September 15, 2024 3:07 PM IST By In the latest development in the Kolkata rape and murder case, in which a 31-year-old female doctor was brutally sexually assaulted and murdered at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on August 9, a team from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested the hospital’s former principal, Dr. Sandip Ghosh, and a police officer named Abhijit Mondal on Saturday. Notably, Ghosh is already under the custody over corruption allegations during his tenure as the principal of RG Kar hospital.

Apart from CBI, Enforcement Directorate (ED) is also probing allegations of money laundering against him. ED had also raided his house and seized evidence. On Saturday, Ghosh found himself embroiled in a number of charges filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
