London is about to be joined by a new cultural festival which has been making waves for decades on the other side of the Atlantic. SXSW (South by South West) Festival celebrates the best in music, film and interactive media and since its inauguration in Austin, Texas, in 1987, it has grown in stature each year with bigger and more dynamic conferences celebrating the accomplishments of filmmakers of all levels. Over the years, the likes of Jon Favreau, Mark Duplass, Ava DuVernay, Ryan Gosling, Nicolas Cage, Matthew McConaughey, Tilda Swinton, Sally Field and Danny Boyle are just a few famous faces to have appeared at the SXSW Festival discussing their work.

Those who make the cut could be part of a session at London's first SXSW conference. 78 music events to take place across 20 venues Submissions will open on Monday, October 28.

Those wishing to speak at conference panels must apply by November 29, while filmmakers and music artists have until January next year to submit their work.
