A brand new Superdrug store opens in an Essex shopping centre today (November 21) - just yards from their previous one and replacing a historic entertainment store which was open for 20 years. Superdrug is moving across the road from Chelmsford High Street into High Chelmer Shopping Centre, replacing the old HMV store which closed in September. Superdrug say it has created an additional six jobs in the move to the space, which will be bigger than their previous store measuring at 6,000 square feet.
The chain sells health and beauty products, everyday toiletries, beauty treatments and luxury fragrances, such as Superdrug’s own-brand cosmetics range Studio London. The store is extremely similar in its offering to Boots, which will now be right opposite in the shopping centre. Music and entertainment shop HMV, which saw the likes of Olly Murs, McFly, Sam Ryder and Sam Smith visiting, shut on September 18 this year, with no other shop like it remaining in Chelmsford.
