One Piece is getting an anime spin-off special called One Piece: Fan Letter, which premieres on Japanese TV on October 20. The special was announced with a brief trailer on YouTube and is based on a book called One Piece Novel: Straw Hat Stories and will similarly tell a handful of shorter tales about the crew members told from side characters not otherwise in the main One Piece story. Only four of these stories, focused on Luffy, Zoro, Nami, and Franky, are confirmed to appear in the special so far.
It's unclear if One Piece Fan Letter will cover the entire crew or if this simply leaves room for further adaptations down the line. No word on an English release was announced but given the popularity of One Piece it's all but guaranteed to come eventually. The world of One Piece is plenty busy elsewhere too, as not only are the manga and anime both running after more than two decades, the latter is also getting a remake.
The show, somewhat confusingly titled The One Piece, was announced in 2023 as a complete refresh of the show , telling the same story but doing it in a more condensed way to cut the fat and create a somewhat definitive viewing experience. Netflix is also gearing up to release Season 2 of the live action show, which recently had Lera Abova confirmed as Nico Robin and Joe Manganiello confirmed as Crocodile . The pair star in Season 2 alongside a number of new faces including Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday , Katey Sagal as Dr.
Kureha, Mark Harelik as Dr. Hir.
