A travel expert has shown off one of the newest features included in the Apple iOS 18 update , that’s perfect for your next getaway. Chelsea Dickenson, also known as Cheap Holiday Expert, spoke of a handy little update to the Calculator app, which will be useful when travelling abroad and dealing with different currencies. Typically the Calculator app is used to suss out those tricky sums and equations you can’t quite figure out in your head.

With the new iOS 18 update, which is now available to download, the Calculator can now double up as a currency converter. In a recent video, Chelsea said she was “absolutely chuffed” with the feature as the app she’d been using for years recently introduced adverts which interrupted the user experience. “Maybe I’m a saddo, but that’s absolutely made my day,” she said.

In addition to the regular calculator features, the app now contains new details where you can convert currencies as well as units of measurements. Chelsea captioned her post: “Anyone else LOVE THIS or am I the only saddo?! Yep - the iPhone calculator now doubles up as fee currency converter. “You just need to be on iOS 18.

I tested it and it does work offline, though obviously it will use the exchange rate when it was last connected to the internet but it’s still gonna be really helpful at giving you a ballpark figure!” So if you have an iPhone and looking to update your software with iOS 18, this is how you can convert currency on your calculator.
