A company named 10 Main Street Ltd has submitted plans to transform a large, disused building on the Co Derry town's Main Street into a boutique hotel, including restaurant, with apartment buildings to be constructed at the rear of the property. The applicants, subject to planning approval, say they hope to see the new hotel open "by the end of 2025".

The former Alexander Arms on Main Street offered accommodation before it closed. Another large hotel - the Gorteen House Hotel - closed around 20 years ago.

Speaking to Belfast Live , a spokesperson for 10 Main Street said: "It is a large site [on Main Street, Limavady] so it lends itself to quite a bit of development. "At the front, we're going to have a 30-bed boutique hotel with a restaurant. It's over four stories at the front.
