A new Filipino restaurant is set to open within weeks. Panalo, a family-run eatery, is expected to open its doors in Church Road, Hove, by the end of the month to bring a "slice of the Philippines to the UK". The restaurant will be run by siblings Aira, Junjun, Melissa, and Ava Medran.

Ava’s husband Mario and Junjun's wife Cindy will also be working at the restaurant as the chefs. A spokesperson for the restaurant said: "Set to open its doors in July 2024, Panalo will take diners on a delightful culinary journey through the archipelago's most beloved dishes, all within a warm and welcoming atmosphere that feels just like home.

"With a deep-rooted passion for their native cuisine and a commitment to sharing their cultural heritage, the family have created a dining experience that combines traditional Filipino dishes with the quirky charm of a Filipino home." The menu is set to feature plenty of classic Filipino dishes including Chicken Inasal, Sisig, Pinoy BBQ, Lumpia, and Halo-Halo. The family said each dish will be prepared with the freshest ingredients to provide an authentic Filipino experience for its customers.
