The Neuro Therapy Centre in Saltney, Chester, has officially opened its new facilities. The opening, which took place on Friday, October 18, was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony performed by John Brimelow, the chair of the Ursula Keyes Trust. The Trust is the centre's landlord and one of the funders of the project.
The centre provides support to individuals with various neurological conditions, including MS, Parkinson's Disease, FND, and Fibromyalgia, as well as their families. The new building will enable the charity to assist more people and facilitate further growth and development of the centre's services. The additional facilities boast a large accessible gym, three times the size of the centre's original facility, a physio suite for group exercise, and additional therapy rooms for one-to-one treatments.
Lorraine Dodd, chair of trustees at the Neuro Therapy Centre, said: "This is an exciting time for the Neuro Therapy Centre. "This expansion has been carefully planned in order to optimise the space available, so we can help even more people live their best neuro lives. "Gifts left in wills are very important to the centre, and it is a legacy which helped us to initiate the project.
"We are very grateful to the funders and supporters who have helped us achieve this first phase of our development plans in just a year." The expansion into the new building allows for the redevelopment of the original centre, enabling an expansion of its mental health services and the cafe.
