BRATTLEBORO — New England Youth Theatre (NEYT) is thrilled to announce the completion of its redesigned stage, a transformative upgrade that promises to elevate the theatrical experience for audiences and performers alike. By extending the stage to fill the theater space, NEYT will take full advantage of the modular nature of its portable riser system. For years, audiences familiar with NEYT's traditional proscenium setup will now have the opportunity to enjoy plays with a wide variety of seating configurations.
This innovative redesign allows for increased versatility in staging, enabling productions planned for the first half of 2025 to feature both thrust and in-the-round arrangements. “We are all very excited to showcase this newfound versatility in our upcoming productions,” said NEYT artistic director Ben Stockman. “This redesign opens up new possibilities for onstage storytelling, allowing student performers the opportunity to connect with audiences in ways that were not possible before.
” With this new layout, NEYT will offer a more immersive theater experience, allowing audiences to engage with the performance from multiple angles. The changes reflect NEYT's commitment to enhancing the creative process for its young artists while providing patrons with an unforgettable viewing experience. NEYT’s Fall Programming will be the first productions utilizing the redesigned stage, and NEYT invites the community to join in this exciting new chapter.
