A new dog grooming salon and shop is aiming to create a community space for pet owners. Slobber and Chops, in St James's Street, Brighton, opened on October 19 and has a launch event planned for Saturday, November 2. Owner Sally Keegan, 29, has lived in Brighton for seven years and named the business after her own dog Betty, a retriever/bulldog/boxer, who is nicknamed Slobber Chops.

At the launch event on November 2, which will be from 9am until 3pm, visitors can take in their dogs to join in a Polaroid photo shoot, and copies of the pictures will appear on the walls in the store to celebrate the dogs of Brighton . The shop will also be serving puppachinos, goody bags and there will be tours of the new salon space. Sally said: "We can't wait to tell their stories and also champion the amazing pets of this city, which really is the best place ever if you have a dog.

"We want to make Slobber and Chops a hub for all things dog, our mantra is 'it's a dog people thing' and those who care for dogs will know exactly what we mean.".
