Brits flocked to Netflix for the first six months of the year and invaded the streaming service with four of their biggest shows trending around the globe coming from the U.K in the first half of 2024. Over the past six months, an engagement report shared that customers have watched more than 94 billion hours on the platform.
This increase was up slightly from 93 billion in the first six months of 2023. Thanks to its broad variety and countless new movies and shows to watch Netflix also gives you the most bang for your buck. Its user-friendliness and diverse catalogue won the service an Editors' Choice Award last year.
They were also awarded the accolade back in 2021 and 2022 and are no doubt hoping to scoop it this year. Meanwhile, the likes of Harlan Coben’s Fool Me Once and Richard Gadd’s Baby Reindeer secured rave reviews and kept viewers gripped with the twists and tales. Four of the 10 biggest shows on Netflix this year were from a British cast.
Fool Me Once took the top spot with 107.5 million views, followed by Baby Reindeer (87.6 million views), The Gentleman (75.
9 million views) and One Day (39.5 million views). Fool Me Once Fool Me Once got the nation hooked after starring starring Michelle Keegan.
