The actress released the novel in 2023, with the plot being inspired by her own family. It followed a teenager in 1940s Britain as they attempted to navigate wartime life and adolescence.

To add to the exciting news, Millie is reportedly set to also star in the film and produce it, according to Deadline. The publication also states that four-time Oscar nominee Anthony McCarten will adapt the screenplay, Jonathan Eirich will produce for Rideback and Nick Reynolds will executive produce for the company. She previously opened up about wanting to adapt the novel with her own production company PCMA and admitted that was her plan all along.

Millie expressed: "Yes, definitely [I would adapt it]. That was the intention behind it. Naturally, I just want to create more, so, yes, this is a great foundation.

"My nan told me the stories when I couldn't sleep at night and I think, for a while, and maybe until I was eight, I didn't think they were real," she said of her inspiration for the novel.
