Nelly Furtado appeared earlier this week on the Call Her Daddy podcast. The I'm Like A Bird singer sat down with the host of the popular podcast and spoke about things from her dating life to her roots. Before she was a Grammy Award winning singer, Nelly was just a girl from Victoria, Canada.

In a clip shared on Call Her Daddy's Instagram page, Alex Cooper , the host of the radio show, asked Nelly: "Before you were famous you worked as a housekeeper in a motel?" Nelly then clarified that it was a "chambermaid." She described the job as having long hours, but she thought it was worth it.

"It was helpful, I think to just sit there and organize," Nelly said. "And then I got a job at the motel. It was called The Robin Hood Motel and my mom worked there, my sister, my aunt, my cousin," she continued.

"My mom ran the housekeeping department. She was like the head honcho and so she hired me." The singer then shared that her brother worked at the motel as a gardener and loved working with her family.

"It was such a good experience because I worked there for probably ten summers straight," she said, to which Alex exclaime.
