India's javelin ace, Neeraj Chopra, had a whirlwind of emotions at the Lausanne Diamond League. He clinched second place with a season-best throw of 89.49 meters, marking his return to competitive action after the Paris Olympics.

While his performance was impressive, Neeraj felt a mix of satisfaction and frustration, as he missed the 90-meter mark by a narrow margin. This meet was Neeraj’s first since the Paris Games, where he couldn't defend his Tokyo Olympics gold. The 26-year-old faced a tough field and started with a throw of 82.

Determined to make his mark, Neeraj delivered an impressive 85.58 meters on his fifth attempt, securing his spot in the top three. As the competition heated up, Peters set a new meeting record with a 90.
