CAMPTI, La. -- A juvenile remains in a regional trauma center and his sister is behind bars in connection with a stabbing Monday in Campti, according to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Stuart Wright. Natchitoches Parish sheriff's investigators charged Arma Y.

Edwards, 25, of Natchitoches with aggravated battery. She was booked into the LaSalle Corrections Center. She remains in jail awaiting bond.

The arrest stems from a disturbance reported at 7:25 a.m. in the 200 block of Lake Street.

Deputies found a 16-year-old male suffering from a stab wound on the lower left side. A relative provided medical aid until EMS arrived. He was taken to a regional trauma center for treatment, where his condition is described as stable.

Investigators allege Edwards stabbed her brother following an argument about whether to plug the phone charger into an extension cord. A "sharp instrument" believed to have been used in the stabbing was seized. The investigation also led to an additional arrest of AAlyshia N.

Edwards, 17, of Campti, who was issued a citation for simple battery and released pending a court appearance. Detectives say the investigation remains active and ongoing..
