A DIY-SAVVY homeowner has wowed people with her incredible hallway makeover which she achieved on a budget. Crafty mum Lisa Barker took to Facebook to proudly show off the epic transformation of her hallway that's since been praised by dozens of social media users. According to the mum, her schedule was busy - but despite having a lot on her plate, Lisa managed to spruce up the home, without forking out a fortune.

Before the revamp, the hallway lacked character - it featured a grey stair runner, as well as cream walls covered in what appeared to be wallpaper. However, with a little motivation and basic DIY skills, the mum gave it a totally new look, using purse-friendly buys from Home Bargains and the Swedish giant, IKEA. First, armed with wooden mouldings, thrifty Lisa attached them to the wall using glue and spirit level to ensure these are placed perfectly.

To give the hallway an optical illusion of a larger space, the Facebook user - who shared the stunning makeover on the DIY On A Budget Official page - attached a total of 16 square mirrors into the corner leading upstairs. These, she added, has been ordered from IKEA and were delivered straight to her doorstop as she doesn't have the store anywhere nearby.

Meanwhile, the bottom section was completed with a fabulous round mirror from rival Home Bargai.
