AN avid swimmer has shared the routine that saves them from washing their hair post-dip. They explained that they preferred to wash their hair once a week, twice maximum when they truly needed it. "I’m a huge summer person. Mainly a beach person," they said.

For starters, on beach days, they wear hats to protect their skin from UV rays and shield their color-treated hair. "Yes, it obviously makes it flatter, but once I go in the water, it’s fine," they said. At the beach, a quick and easy rinse helps exfoliate their scalp.

"While in the water (this applies to ocean water only), I like to use my hair while under the water and give my scalp a gentle scratch all around," they said. "I find it helps like a natural exfoliation in the salt and sand also [it] feels great."
