Saturday, September 7, 2024 Nestled in the heart of South Luangwa National Park, Mwamba Camp has recently unveiled a series of sophisticated upgrades, enhancing the already enchanting wilderness experience. The renovated chalets now boast an innovative design featuring woven bamboo exteriors and interiors, complemented by a protective matting layer that efficiently wards off insects while allowing guests to immerse fully in the natural beauty. With an increase in space, each chalet presents a private veranda, inviting guests to revel in expansive views that capture the essence of the vibrant surroundings.

The iconic Gardenia chalet, while relocated, retains its nostalgic charm amidst the gardenias, redesigned to integrate more fluidly with the wild landscape. The enhancements extend to the outdoor bathrooms which now feature robust pathways leading to double basins with elegant copper tapware, live-edge mirrors, and showers nestled among the trees, offering a unique blend of comfort and nature. A standout addition is the camp’s new deck, strategically placed to overlook the Mwamba River.

This serene gathering spot doubles as a breakfast deck and a tranquil retreat for wildlife observation. Regular visits from elephants and various plains game right in front of the deck underscore its status as an ideal locale for ‘armchair safaris.’ Long-time fans of Mwamba will be pleased to find the Last Waterhole Hide remains untouched, continuing to provide some of the park’s most.
