Volvo Car Australia has recalled 47 vehicles across its S60, V60, XC60 and XC90 model lines due to a fault which can result in a loss of braking performance. “Due to a manufacturing defect, the brake pedal rod may not have been fastened to the specified torque and could detach. If this occurs, it can result in a reduction in braking performance and/or a loss of vehicle control,” the carmaker said in its recall notice.

“Note: the parking brake can still be used to stop the vehicle. “A reduction in braking performance and/or a loss of vehicle control could increase the risk of an accident, causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.” 100s of new car deals are available through CarExpert right now.
