Prayagraj: The North Central Railway administration, for the first time, has planned to start announcements in 15 different regional languages of the country apart from Hindi and English for devotees coming from different states of the country to take part in Maha Kumbh to be held in Prayagraj in 2025. The multilingual announcement system would help the devotees coming from different states who are not well-versed in Hindi or in English. A similar announcement system would also be introduced in the railways camps being set up in the Sangam area along with Prayagraj Junction.

"We expect a huge turnout of devotees and tourists during Maha Kumbh and many of them would be from different states of the country, especially the southern states. With an aim to make vital information regarding trains accessible to them without any language barrier, we will be making announcements in 15 languages with the help of a software," said divisional railway manager (DRM), Prayagraj division Himansu Badoni. "Once we have the software, the same can be used to make announcements, both at the camps of the railways at the mela area as well as the main Junction," he added.

Lakhs of devotees from states including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Assam, etc are expected to visit the mega religious event. To avoid the language problem for the passengers, the railway announcements would be made in Hindi, English as well as Konkani, Gujarati, Bengali, .
