The ceremony was due to take place on September 10 in New York but will now take place on September 11 to avoid clashing with the televised debate, which will be the first time candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris will face off against each other. MTV declared in a press release: “Our fans are encouraged to tune in for the 9/10 debate ahead of music’s most iconic night.
” The broadcaster has continuously encouraged viewers to go out and vote on election day. It has also confirmed who will be performing on the night. Sabrina Carpenter , Camila Cabello, Chappell Roan , GloRilla and Rauw Alejandro are all set to take to the stage.
