Catfish host Nev Schulman admitted he’s “lucky to be alive” after breaking his neck in a grizzly accident. The 39-year-old broadcaster revealed he was involved in a terrifying motorcycle accident last Monday (August 5) when his bike collided with a truck. The MTV star was on route to pick up his two-year-old son Cy from school when the incident took place.

He was immediately rushed to hospital in the ICU after he snapped two nerves that control his muscles. In some cases, this injury can leave the patient permanently unable to walk. Thankfully, the broadcaster reassured fans that he’s “not paralyzed” and is “projected to make a full recovery” in a lengthy Instagram post on Saturday (August 10).

He shared a series of pictures and videos of himself inside the hospital ward, including one of him rising slowly from his bed with the help of two nurses. Six days since the accident took place, the dad-of-three has regained the ability to walk down the hospital hallway unaided. The carousel of snaps included a painful close-up snap of the scar along the back of his neck, as well as X-rays pictures which revealed the extent of his internal damage.

Schulman also included heartwarming pictures and videos of his family rallying around him and supporting from his hospital bed. In one picture, his wife Laura Perlongo could be seen snuggling up to him in bed, as they bravely beamed to the camera. In another video, he shared a clip of his three children Cleo, seven, Beau, fiv.
