As well as getting the job done super quickly, Mrs Hinch’s hack for getting shot of moss and algae gives a huge amount of satisfaction. Garden furniture and decking looks great when it’s new but it doesn’t take long for the effects of being permanently located outside in the open air to take hold. Before too long the sun, rain and wind takes its toll and your once enviable garden or outside space starts to look tatty and worn.

Adding to the problem is of course the mould and mildew that can develop on surfaces, especially wooden ones. Cleaning the green growth off can be an arduous and time consuming process. Cleaning guru, Mrs Hinch, whose real name is Sophie Hinchliffe, showed an area of her garden that was beset with dirt accumulated over time - her childrens’ tree house.

The hugely successful influencer, who has become famous for her hacks and tips for cleaning and has almost 5million followers, shared how she managed to rid the playhouse of the moss in next to no time. Pictures she posted on Instagram showed areas of wood on the structure, particularly the decked flooring and some upright posts, that were covered in a grubby green coating. To get the treehouse looking almost new again she opted to use a jet washer and force it off with the powerful spray of water.

Along with a short clip of the process, she wrote: "We jet washed the boys’ treehouse yesterday. Satisfaction level 100!" The machine can be seen blasting the dirt from the ridges of the wood instantl.
