Anna Whitehouse has hit back at critics claiming that her children have never been happier since divorcing their dad. The journalist turned social media influencer under the name Mother Pukka and author, 43, announced her marriage split from her husband Matt Farquharson last year in September after 17 years. Anna has since found love with Olly Bretton with the two engaged and expecting their first child together.

Talking about blended families and hitting back at any stigma on Wednesday's Lorraine, Anna said: "The world will judge and the world will say: 'Think of the children, I can't believe you've divorced!' But I know my children, my ex knows my children, my partner knows his children. "We're adults, our children have never been happier and that has been the most anchoring thing in this because we're taught that of course divorces has its trauma but actually if you hold them, neutralise it and don't go in with 'this a dramatic exit' and go: 'This is a beautiful new chapter where mummy and daddy are going to be happy.'" It comes as Anna announced her pregnancy back in June, writing: "Still can’t quite believe it.

To be pregnant at 43. A little [baby emoji] between our four kids; Our blended family. Happiness doesn’t cover it.

I didn’t dare dream it would happen but, then, there’s always hope and here he/she is. Hope. "Thank you in advance for being kind in comments.

It’s been a journey and your support has meant more than you might realise in the lower - and high.
