Award-winning cocktail maker Mother Mercy is opening a new bar inside Fenwick in Newcastle this week where it is out to add its own edge of style to the store's womenswear floor. The bar, which previously had a pop-up on the city department store's lower ground floor, is now moving up a gear onto level one - which it sees as an "incredible opportunity" - and it will launch there in a flurry of pink on Friday morning. Showcasing Mother Mercy's signature colour will be an elegant decor complemented by pink velvet high stools along the length of the bar and matching chairs set around tables for two .
Mother Mercy, which has been named among the Top 50 Cocktail Bars in the UK , is renowned for its innovative drinks and here it will be adding not only some special tipples but also a new afternoon tea, with its Cocktails and Cake treat featuring 90 minutes of free-flow drinks served in teapots accompanied by beautiful cakes. To tie in with the Fenwick shopping experience, the new bar - which is based next to luxury clothing brands COS and Mulberry - will be offering other treats that are exclusive to the store's customers. Also on the menu will be some rare and vintage drinks from its private collection and it says of them "once they’re gone, they will be gone forever".
Customers also will be able to pick the likes of upmarket Champagne cocktails and a " world-famous" Macallan spirit which it says will come served in exclusive Lalique crystal glassware. Its own classic cocktails,.
