Sunday, November 10, 2024 Aviation authorities in Russia temporarily closed Domodedovo, Zhukovsky, and Sheremetyevo airports in the Moscow region on Sunday, citing potential drone attack risks. The Russian Federal Air Transport Agency issued a statement saying, “To ensure the safety of civil aviation, temporary restrictions have been imposed on Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports from 08:03 Moscow time, November 10. These airports are not currently accepting or dispatching flights.
” Sheremetyevo International Airport was subsequently closed as well. All relevant personnel, including aircraft crews, air traffic controllers, and airport services, are implementing comprehensive safety measures to prioritize flight security, according to a report. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed that seven additional drones were intercepted and neutralized in the areas of Domodedovo, Ramenskoye, and Kolomna on Sunday morning, bringing the total number of downed drones in the region to 32.
