MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Morgantown Police have arrested a St.
Louis, Missouri, man as a result of an investigation into threats of a shooting at Morgantown High School. Nickolas Vadim Moore, 18, has been charged for threats of terroristic acts, according to a release from the police department. On Aug.
28, 2024, the Morgantown Police Department was made aware of a social media post circulating online alleging a threat of a shooting at Morgantown High School. Detectives from the Morgantown Police Department immediately began investigating the source of the threat, and with the assistance of the FBI and Monongalia County Schools, a suspect was able to be identified and interviewed on the same day the threat was discovered, according to the release. Based on their investigation and interviews, investigators were able to determine that there was no active threat to the school or any of its students.
The individual that posted the threat was determined to be located in St. Louis, and the weapons seen in the social media post were determined to be airsoft guns, according to the release. The individual that made the threat was identified as 18-year-old Nickolas Vadim Moore of St.
Louis. A warrant was obtained by the Morgantown Police Department, and Moore was arrested on Sept. 20 by the St.
Louis County Police Department in Missouri. Moore was extradited to West Virginia on Oct. 4, where he was processed and then arraigned in Monongalia County Magistrate Court.
