Vadodara: While the city may not have received lots of rain this week, craters continue to appear on city roads . Two cave-ins were reported in eastern parts of the city around Ajwa Road. The sinkholes appeared on the road near Sardar Estate and near Ekta Nagar, behind Leprosy Ground.

Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) barricaded the sinkholes and has already filled one of them. A citizen activist, Kamlesh Parmar, said that the sinkhole near Ekta Nagar was closed without examining the situation under it. “There could be a leak that caused it.

It seems that it was filled without finding out the cause,” he said. Parmar added that the sinkhole near Sardar Estate seems small now but may be much larger below the road. “It can become bigger if more earth caves in,” he said.
