BOZEMAN — The Montana State women's basketball team set multiple records in its 98-66 win over rival Montana on Saturday at Worthington Arena. The 98 points are MSU's most in the history of the women's Brawl of the Wild. The Bobcats (25-2, 15-0 Big Sky) also broke their in-season record for longest winning streak and tied they overall longest streak (18).

MSU's Esmeralda Morales scored a game-high 28 points, Taylee Chirrick had 13, Taylor Janssen had 11 and Missoula native Lexi Deden added 10. Avery Waddington led UM (10-15, 6-9) with 20 points, and Dani Bartsch added 10 points and a game-high 14 rebounds. Katelynn Martin banked in a running 3-pointer to beat the buzzer and give MSU a 57-30 lead at halftime.

com/bYQHcOyYt0 Martin's make broke a tie for the Cats' season high in first half points scored. The last time they reached at least 57 in a first half was Feb. 27, 2020, when they scored 58 en route to a 113-69 Big Sky Conference regular season title-clinching home win over Sacramento State.

That victory was one of 17 straight MSU earned to finished the 2019-20 season, which the Big Sky ended right before the conference title game due to COVID-19. The Cats won their 2020-21 opener to set the program record for consecutive wins. This story will be updated.
